Sr. Design Characterization Engineer
Description
We are looking for a qualified Characterization Engineer to work in close collaboration with the product design and R&D teams. The Characterization Engineer will apply knowledge of image sensor and camera system to, scientifically, analyze key performance of OMNIVISION products and provide technical suggestions of improvement.
Responsibilities
• Develop scientific approaches for characterizing high-performance image sensor products
• Work closely with analog/digital design teams to optimize sensor performance and troubleshoot chip/system level issues
• Conduct modeling and simulation of imaging systems. Provide technical suggestions of improvement by thorough analytic studies of CMOS image sensor’s fundamental performance issues
• Characterize and analyze R&D projects to obtain knowledge of future product development

Qualifications
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 1-6 years of experience
• Expertise in CMOS analog/mixed-signal design and semiconductor device physics
• Experience with Python or MATLAB programming
• Experience or knowledge in image signal processing, color technology or optics is an advantage

Annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between $120,600 - $170,000.
Actual pay will be determined on several factors such as relevant skills and experience, the pay of employees in the similar role etc.
